Alcamo or Bianco DOC is a white wine from western Sicily (‘Sicilia’).
Wines
Alcamo Bianco DOC: Made in still and Spumante (fully sparkling) forms. 60-100% Cataratto, 0-40% Ansonica, Chardonnay, Grecanico, Grillo, Inzolia and/or Müller-Thurgau, 0-20% other permitted varieties.
Alcamo Bianco DOC Classico: 80-100% Cataratto Bianco Comune and/or Cataratto Bianco Lucido, plus other permitted varieties.
Alcamo Bianco DOC Vendemmia Tardiva: From late-harvested, partly dried grapes (as for Alcamo Bianco, above), in Secco and Dolce styles.
Alcamo Rosato, Rosato Spumante, Rosso, Rosso Novello DOC, Rosso Riserva: 60-100% Cabernet Sauvignon, Frappato, Merlot, Perricone and Syrah (up to 40%), 0-40% other permitted varieties. Riserva must age 2 years, minimum alcohol 12%.
