WEST AUCKLAND is a sub-region of Auckland located 30 minutes west of Auckland city and centred on the town of Kumeu in New Zealand. The rolling hills here produce wine, and fresh produce including strawberries. Beyond Kumeu, and before the hills give way to rugged black sand beaches, are waterfalls.
HISTORY | Many of New Zealand’s oldest wine families still call this warm and fertile region home, after settling here nearly 100 years ago.
WINE STYLES | West Auckland’s bases its reputation on Chardonnay and Merlot.
