Fattoria Villa La Selva is located southeast of Florence, in Località Montebenichi in the commune of Bucine in Arezzo province, Tuscany. The estate, once owned by the Medici family, is named after its sylvan landscape (“la selva”). Wines are made under the Toscana IGT and Vin Santo del Chianti DOC.

Owner: Guya Carpini. Her husband is Marco Patrizi. Guya’s late father was Sergio Carpini (d. Dec 2006).

Estate vineyards: Chianti Colli Aretini. 100ha of land of which 22 hectares of vineyards: Sangiovese, Cabernet, Sauvignon, Merlot, Malvasia and Trebbiano Toscano. Some new plantings in the early 2000s.

Red wines

Felciaia Rosso: Sangiovese based. Name after the Felciaia (bed of ferns) vineyard.

Rosso, Selvamaggio: Cabernet Sauvignon. 10,000 vines/ha.

Vin Santo wines

Vin Santo del Chianti DOC, Vigna del Papa: Trebbiano and Malvasia.
