Val delle Rose is an estate in Località Poggio La Mozza in Grosseto in the Maremma region of Tuscany, Italy. Red wines are made under the Morellino di Scansano DOCG. In July 1996, the Cecchi family family purchased the Val delle Rose winery. This made Cecchi the first of the Tuscan wine merchants to buy land here. In 1997 Kim Milne of International Wine Services worked for Cecchi and was, I think, based here.
Owner: Cecchi (Tuscany-based merchant and wine-grower).
Vineyards: At the time of Cecchi purchase in 1996, Val delle Rose had roughly 25 hectares of vines: now there are 100ha. 5,000 to 5,500 vines per hectare. 150 metres. Soil is ‘arenaria alcalina’.
