The Valle del Calore is a valley of the Lucanian Sub-apennine in Campania, including the basin of the Calore Lucano river in Campania, southern Italy. Its course is entirely included in the province of Salerno, within the geographical district of the Cilento, for a total of about 63 kms. It is an important left tributary of the Sele. In ancient times it was known as Calor. It should not be confused with the homonymous valley of the Campania Apennines including the basin of the Calore Irpino, a different river located in Campania but at more northern latitudes, in the geographical district of Irpinia (Avellino province).
