Val de Loire IGP is a regional appellation covering wine made in 2,226 communes in the Loire Valley. It was created when the syndicats of those appellations with ‘Loire’ in their name agreed to create a Vin de Pays du Val de Loire, due for the 2007 vintage (Charles Sydney: 2007, p.56).
