Tinto de Rulo is a wine project in Chile created when three agronomist friends – Mauricio Gonzalez, Jamie and Claudio – decided to make wine together using century-old Malbec and Pais vines in the Maule region (the grapes are bought in I was told in at the Real Wine Fair 2016). Their first crop was 2013, and from dry farmed vineyards.
Carignan: 2015 Maule. 1,500 bottles. Corked, very obvious TCA (Real Wine Fair 2016).
Malbec: 2015 Not tasted.
Real Wine Fair 2016, Tobacco Dock, London 17-18th April.
