Tenuta Il Borro is an organic estate in Franz San Giustino Valdarno in Loro Ciuffena in the Val d’Arno di Sopra DOC region in Arezzo province in eastern Tuscany.

Owner: In 1993 father and son Ferruccio and Salvatore Ferragamo acquired Duca Amadeo d’Aosta’s Tenuta Il Borro. The new owner planted vineyards with Niccoò d’Afflito consulting.

Organic certification: Il Borro has been organic certified since 2015.

Rosé del Borro: 100% Sangiovese, reminiscent of Il Borro’s sublime sunsets.

Toscana Rosso, Il Borro Pian di Nova: Named after a podere on the estate. | 2002 75% Syrah, 25% Sangiovese. Allier oak. Crisp red fruit, fresh berries (Visit, 10 March 2005).

Toscana Rosso, Il Borro Polissena: Named after the eponymous vineyard. | 2002 Sangiovese. Juicy black berry fruit (Visit, 10 March 2005).

Toscana Rosso, Il Borro: 1999 Bottled. | 2000 Bottled. | 2001 MLF in barrel. Allier for 12 months. Smooth tannin again, juicy fruit, well made, soft and clean and elegant at Il Borro on 10 March 2005. €32. | 2002 50% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Syrah & Petit Verdot. MLF in barrel. Nice clean fruit, wild berries and black fruit and not too much oak or extraction (Visit, 10 March 2005). | 2009 55% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Syrah. Bright oak which has settled over cherry trifle fruit, not shouty, smooth minor key fruit, the oak is well-handled (Bronze, DWWA 2013).

Petruna: 100% Sangiovese in amphora.

Borrigiano: A Syrah, Merlot and Sangiovese blend.
