The Tempio di San Biagio in the town of Montepulciano in the Tuscan province of Siena lies just below the city walls. The Tempio (temple) is the work of Renaissance artist Antonio da Sangallo the Elder. The church is considered an architectural triumph, and inspired Michelangelo when he was sketching the first drafts of what became St Peter’s Basilica in Rome.
