Tablas Creek Vineyard is a Biodynamic estate and winery in the Adelaida District AVA of San Luis Obispo County within the blanket Central Coast AVA of California. Tablas Creek specialises in Rhône-style wines and is a US-French partnership between two families. The Robert Haas family is from Vermont. Robert Haas is a successful wine merchant in the USA and imports the Perrins’ wines. His son Jason Haas is Tablas Creek’s general manager. The Perrin family own Chateau de Beaucastel in Chateauneuf du Pape in France’s Rhône Valley.

Biodynamic certification: 2017 First vintage with full Demeter certification for all 49ha (120 acres) of estate vineyards producing 18,000 cases out of the winery’s total production of 27,000 cases.
White wines
Esprit de Tablas Blanc: 2015 55% Roussanne, 28% Grenache Blanc, 17% Picpoul Blanc. 2,000 cases. Nice appley natural style (IBWC 2018).
Cotes Blanc: Based on Viognier.
Red wines
Côtes de Tablas: 2016 55% Grenache Noir, 25% Syrah, 13% Mourvedre, 7% Counoise. 2,015 cases. Lovely soft fruit (IBWC 2018).
Esprit de Tablas: The flagship red. | 2015 49% Mourvedre, 25% Grenache Noir, 21% Syrah, 5% Counoise. 2,850 cases. Nice flow to this and with undertlying density (IBWC 2018).
