Biodynamics in Switzerland began shortly after the founding of Biodynamic farming by Rudolf Steiner in 1924. Farms were set up in Switzerland that applied his methods and adapted them to the climatic and structural conditions of Switzerland. The first Swiss farm to go Biodynamic was ‘Oswald’, which is in East Switzerland (it was still Biodynamic in 2004) and has cows and cereals (a mixed farm). Ehrenfried Pfeiffer visited this farm and had close connections with the farmer and his wife, and the Swiss Biodynamic movement made good progress.
