Sierra de Gredos or the Gredos mountain range, is located in the south of the province of Ávila in Castilla y Léon in Spain. The range is a granite mass shaped by glacial erosion which separates the Duero and Tajo rivers. Rare wildlife such as the Spanish ibex can be found here. The landscape comprises lagoons like the Grand Lagoon, gorges, crags, cliffs and moraine deposits. The Almanzor, a slender peak, is the highest point in Spain’s Central Mountain System.
