Rendola was created in 2005 as a collaboration between several wine producers in the Montalcino region of Tuscany, Italy to achieve economies of scale. The company is based in Torrenieri in the north-east Montalcino and makes wines under the local Rosso di Montalcino DOC, Brunello di Montalcino DOCG and Sant’ Antimo DOC. Rendola also makes a Morellino di Scansano DOCG from the Scansano region on the Tuscan coast.

Vineyards: The Montalcino vineyards are situated in hillside areas at between 250–350m above sea level. Soils are medium textured, rocky, with variable percentages of tufa and clay.

Red wines

Rosso di Montalcino DOC, Rendola: The vineyards are located in hilly areas at altitudes between 250 and 550 m above sea level. The soils are of medium texture with the presence of skeleton and variable percentages of tuff and clay.

Brunello di Montalcino DOCG, Rendola: 2008 Dry, heavy, roasted, Christmas pudding. No medal at DWWA 2nd May 2013.

Brunello di Montalcino DOCG Riserva, Rendola: 2004 Quite evolved, animal and cigar box notes, ends a bit caramelised, drying. Commended at DWWA 30th April 2013.

Morellino di Scansano DOCG: 2004 The vineyards are located on gentle and extensive hills with an altitude of between 300 and 600 meters on lands originated from the decay of the sandstone with a sandy texture, with the presence of silt and rich in skeleton.

Sant’Antimo DOC Rosso DOC: 2004 60% Sangiovese, 40% Cabarnet Sauvignon. The vineyards are located in hills at an altitude between 130 and 350 metres on land that has a clayey-limestone texture with good water retention.
