Quercecchio is an estate winery in Località Quercecchio in Montalcino in Tuscany, Italy. It makes Rosso di Montalcino DOC and Brunello di Montalcino DOCG red wines.
Owner: Maria Grazia Salvioni [any relation to the Salvioni at Albatreti?] and her grandson Matteo Benvenuti.
Staff: There is no full-time oenologist I was told (Anteprima 2015). Oenoligist Angelo Pescio (Verona) seems to be used for wine analyses.
Estate vineyards: Between Tavernelle and Camigliano with Castiglion del Bosco and Banfi as neighbours. 300 metres. 16.5ha of vines of which 15ha of Sangiovese for Brunello, Rosso and Sant’Antimo and 1.5ha of Merlot and Syrah. Soil is clay (white clay mainly), not galestro.

Rosso di Montalcino DOC Quercecchio: 1981 Debut. | 2011 18,400 bottles. Bright clear colour, bit of fizz as bottled in October (Anteprima 2013). | 2012 16,880 bottles. Aged in botti. Plum and mint, appley red fruit (Anteprima 2014). | 2013 18,00 bottles. Distinct open style (Anteprima 2015). | 2014 4m in botti grande and steel. Lovely clear fruit (Anteprima 2016). | 2018 18,660 bottles.
Brunello di Montalcino DOCG Quercecchio: 2000 Elegant soft style, bit of older wood, but clear style of fruit, light but insistent (Anteprima 2005). | 2008 16,800 bottles. Some baked notes, nice depth, development at rim, soft (Anteprima 24th Feb 2013). | 2009 17,320 bottles. Quite evolved, sweet fruit, light, need to drink this soon, OK now but will not age (Anteprima 2014). | 2010 45,300 bottles. Sweet, bright, savoury jam (Anteprima 2015). | 2011 Nice perfume, oak, wildness, some primary notes, long and fluid, some sherry at end perhaps but it has agreeable fluidity and clarity (Anteprima 2016). 2015 40,770 bottles.
