Poggio Salvi is an estate located in Sovicille, Tuscany, miles (11km) south west of Siena. It is not to be confused with Villa Poggio Salvi, a different estate also in Tuscany but in Montalcino.

Terroir: On soft slopes of a hill at 280 metres a.s.l.

Red wines

Morellino di Scansano DOCG, I Butteri: 2011 90% Sangiovese, 5% each Alicante Ganzin & Merlot. £8-14.99. Wild, ripe fruit, deep and rich, clean and flavoured, decent value too, dry tannins at back, firm, vibrant and appetising. 16.5+ Points. Bronze at DWWA 30th April 2013.

Toscana Rosso, Campo del Bosco:  2007 100% Sangiovese. £15-29.99. Powdery, raisiny nose, fruit drying out on palate and if not yet dried out will be soon. Bronze Points. at DWWA 30th April 2013.
