Pietrafocaia is an estate in the Montalcino region of Tuscany, within sight of the Sanlorenzo estate. The name Pietrafocaia refers to flint or gunflint , the stone whose spark when struck by another stone can make fire. The owners have Sangiovese grapes for Brunello di Montalcino DOCG red wines but they do not bottle and sell in bulk instead.
