Moscato di Sardegna DOC is a white wine from the Italian island of Sardinia (Sardegna) which can be sweet, still or sparkling. The DOC was granted in 1980 and covers the entire island. The wine ‘has never been produced in quantity. Most is grown in the Anglona and Gallura hills to the north,’ (Burton Anderson: 1990, p.291). Wines labelled ‘Tempio Pausania’ or ‘Tempio’ come from the commune of that name. Wines labelled ‘Gallura’ willl have come from that northern promontory (Burton Anderson, 1990, p.291). The sparkling white a sort of Mediterranean version of Moscato d’Asti DOCG.
