Montonale is a family run estate located near the small village or ‘borgo’ of that  name on the south shore of Lake Garda. Wines are made under the Lugana DOC.

Owner: The Girelli family. The estate was founded in the early 1990s when the first vines were planted in Montonale.

Vineyards: By 1998 the vineyard surface area had also given way almost entirely to other crops. Now in the fourth generation under brothers Claudio, Roberto and Valentino. It was Roberto who inherited, from his great uncle, 10 rows of Turbiana (w) and Merlot (r) and Marzemino (r). In2015 there were around 25ha of vines.

Winery: Eco-friendly. Rice straw bale washed with lime. Solar panels.
