Monte San Savino is a commune in the Colli Aretini (Arezzo hills) in Arezzo province, Tuscany. It lies within the Chianti Colli Aretini DOCG. The town occupies a hill covered with olive trees which overlooks the Esse valley, the Esse being a tributary of the Chiana. The architecture of the town dates to the Middle ages, the Renaissance and Andrea dal Monte Sansovino or Andrea Contucci del Monte San Savino, an Italian sculptor active during the High Renaissance who was born here.
