Mont Blanc is the French-language name for ‘White Mountain’, in this case the the highest peak in the European Alps at 4,808 metres (15,800 feet). Mont Blanc forms part of the range dividing the Aosta Valley in Italy (where Mont Blanc is called Monte Bianco) and Savoie and Haute-Savoie in France.
