MAUVES, one of the original six townships (‘communes’) entitled to the Saint-Joseph AOC when this was created in 1956, the other five being Glun, Lemps, Tournon, Saint-Jean-de-Muzols and Vion. Mauves lies about 10m north of Valence, and 75km south of Lyon.
