Masterton is the largest town in the Wairarapa region on the north island of New Zealand. It was the first place in the Wairarapa area in which grapes were planted, in the late 19th century ago. The valley is shadowed by the Tararua ranges, and early morning frosts are common, contrasted by very hot summer days.

Wines: Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir are the dominant varieties.
