Marnier Lapostolle
The Grand Marnier company was born in 1827 in Neauphle-le-Chateau near Versailles with Jean-Baptiste Lapostolle, a fruit distiller. The granddaughter of the founder, 50 years later, married Louis-Alexandre Marnier, already a well-known liquor trader. The company thus took the name of Marnier Lapostolle and over the years it established itself more and more with its products in markets all over the world, thanks above all to the sponsorships of actors and rulers of the high society of the time. The real Grand Marnier liqueur as we know it today was created in 1880 by combining a young Cognac with Caribbean bitter orange peel and sugar syrup. The company has been part of the Campari Group since 2016.
