LE PRESI is an estate winery in Montalcino in Tuscany, Italy. Its main wines are Rosso di Montalcino DOC and Brunello di Montalcino DOCG. Le Presi was founded by Bruno Fabbri in 1970. Bruno released his first Brunello in 1978. In 1998 Bruno’s son Gianni took over.
THE NAME / The term Le Presi refers to the way of terracing the local land for wine-growing.
VINEYARDS / There are two estate vineyards comprising 4 hectares in total. Fosso was planted by Bruno in 1970 and is close to the Abbey of Sant’Antimo in Castelnuovo dell’Abate at 310 metres (1,017 feet) and at a density of 2,500 vines per hectare. The Piagge vineyard was planted by Gianni in 1998 and at 5,550 vines per hectare.

ROSSO DI MONTALCINO DOC, LE PRESI / 2004 Fermented in stainless steel. Clean, concentrated, wild fruit, with length and freshness with a lovely, zippy clear aftertaste too at Benvenuto Brunello 24 Feb 2006.
BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO DOCG, LE PRESI / 2000 Fermented in stainless steel. Showed weight but dirty wood at the finish at Benvenuto Brunello 18 Feb 2005. / 2001 Fresh and vibrant with good concentration, plus typicity and length too at Benvenuto Brunello 24 Feb 2006.
