Toscana Rosso, L’Aione: 2001 75% Sangiovese, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc. 9,000 bottles. Elegant, minor key, nice black fruit, softish with a firm spine somewhere and plenty of new oak but just here adding a touch at the finish which shows good winemaking at the Bolgheri wine route office on Tues 22 Feb 2005.
Toscana Rosso, L’Aione Salve: 2002 85% Sangiovese. 7,000 bottles. Very high tone aroma; eucalypus and menthol; unusual; palate a bit dry and light and the wood is too dominant at the Bolgheri wine route office on Tues 22 Feb 2005.
Toscana Rosso, L’Aione Etico: 2002 75% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Petit Verdot, 5% Cabernet Franc. 6,000 bottles. Decent wieght and denseness; new wood quite present, but decent rich black fruit on the palate with soft fruit tannins; well constructed and very international at the Bolgheri wine route office on Tues 22 Feb 2005.
