Juniper, wild plant found in the Mediterranean. Prickly Juniper (Juniperus oxycedrus) is a silvery-grey shrub with hard, prickly foliage and very durable wood. Phoenician Juniper (Juniperus phoenicea) is similar to the Prickly Juniper but with mainly scale-leaves rather than all-needle leaves. Both species have shiny brownish-red berries when ripe.
