IPPOLITO 1845 is an estate winery in the Cirò DOC region of Calabria, Italy.

VINEYARDS | 100 hectares (247 acres) of vines in the Cirò DOC in three areas called Mancuso, Feudo and Difesa Piana. The main varieties are Gaglioppo, Greco Bianco, Calabrese and Pecorello. Densities are 5,600 vines per hectare with 2,20 metres between the rows and 80cm between the vines.

CIRÒ ROSSO, RIPE DEL FALCO | Single vineyard wine inspired by Vincenzo Ippolito’s grandfather who saw the potential for such wines by virtue of sales trips to the Piemonte region in the 1950s. / 1997 13.5%. / 2005 100% Gaglioppo. 15% alcohol. Very ripe nose plus VA, brett, drying out. 79/100 points tasted blind at the Radici del Sud competition, Saturday 14th June 2015.
SWEET WHITE WINES
CALABRIA BIANCO PASSITO, GEMMA DEL SOLE | Dried grape (40 days under the sun after picking) wine made from 100% Greco Bianco. Barrel aged.
