GUIDO MARSELLA, producer of Fiano di Avellino DOCG white wine in the Campania region of Italy.
BACKGROUND | In 1995, Guido Marsella left his family’s construction business to create his winery near the town of Mercogliano. The estate was helped when Paolo Massobrio and Marco Gatti selected the Fiano in their 100 Best Italian Wines.
VINEYARDS | The vines are located in Summonte township, a warm area, at approximately metres (2640 feet) above sea level.
WHITE WINES
Fiano di Avellino DOCG, Guido Marsella | The Summonte terroir, a rather warm area, seems to create a smoky note in the wine, beyond flinty, almost rubbery (but not in a bad way), the hydrocarbon which is typical of Fiano in warm area. | 2016 13,5% alc. Bone dry.
