Ettore Nicoletto became the CEO of Bertani Domains in early 2020. He took over from Emilio Pedron, Chief Executive Officer of Bertani Domains since 2011.

Born in 1963, Ettore Nicoletto graduated in Economics and Business Studies from Ca’ Foscari University in Venice and immediately became fascinated by the world of wine. He began his career at the beginning of the 1990s, working for Casa Vinicola Zonin (see Zonin 1821), where he held various positions, including that of Export Director from 2000 to 2003.

In 2004, he moved over to the Santa Margherita wine group in eastern Venteto, Italy, where in 2005, he was appointed General Manager and then CEO in 2008. His goal was to restructure the company’s export department and sales network in Italy, as well as reprogramming its product portfolio, projecting the Group towards new trading dimensions, through both organic growth and the acquisition of new businesses. In 2005 he was appointed Director General, with the goal of rationalizing the Group’s activities and creating optimum coordination between its subsidiary companies.

Nicoletto has also held numerous positions at various associations: First, President, and now, Vice President of Italia del Vino, a consortium of the most influential Italian wineries; Vice President of the Vini di Federvini Group; President of the Tutela Lugana DOC Consortium; and Federdoc Board Member.

As well as being a keen golfer, in the ‘80s and ‘90s, Ettore Nicoletto also took part in international off-road motorbike (“enduro”) races, gaining important placings even in the world championships.
