Erik Banti is a producer in coastal south west Tuscany making Morellino di Scansano DOCG red wines.
Owner: Vinoso srl. Erik Banti is from Milan. He was an early pioneer of Scansano, who started buying wine and progressed to growing his own grapes. His 22nd vintage was 2002.

Vineyards: 2005 Around 60ha of vines, plus more on the way. Banti’s Sangiovese improved with new clones. Also Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Syrah and Zinfandel.
Winery: Banti used to work out of a cramped cellars in the village of Montemerano. His new winery is outside Scansano.
Red wines
IGT Toscana Rosso, Poggio Maestrino:
Annoterzo, Annoquatro etc: Sangiovese and Merlot from a vineyard outside Montemerano.
Morellino do Scansano DOCG, Carato: 2002 Sangiovese, Canaiolo, Malvasia Nera and Alicante (Grenache Noir). Very soft, some cedar (American oak), black and red fruit, a little light to be honest, but elegant and refreshing but not for keeping (Consorzio tasting 2nd March 2005).
Morellino do Scansano DOC Riserva Aquilaia: 1983 Bottled.
Morellino do Scansano DOCG Riserva, Ciabatta: 2000 Sangiovese in botti and barrel. Quite evolved in the colour; also some VA on palate; drying tannin and lacking a bit of fruit too (Consorzio tasting 2nd March 2005). | 2015 Bottled.
