Donnaz, or Donnas AOC is a red wine based on Nebbiolo (called Picotener locally) grapes made in Italy’s Aosta or Valle d’Aosta region. It is unofficially known as ‘Barolo’s mountain brother.’ The DOC is named after the town of Donnaz, or Donnas which lies on the Roman road to Gaul. The vines grow on the sandy valley floor.
