Donatella Cinelli Colombini is the owner of two Tuscan wineries, Casato Prime Donne in Località Casato in the Montalcino region of Tuscany, and Fattoria del Colle in the neighbouring Orcia DOC. Both Donatell’s  wineries have all-female staff. Her daughter Violante Gardini was born in Montalcino and works with her mother and father, Carlo Gardini (a former banker).

Donatella was born in Siena, Italy in 1953, daughter to Francesca Cinelli Colombini of Fattoria dei Barbi in Montalcino, brother to Stefano Cinelli Colombini of Fattoria dei Barbi. She studied Medieval Art History. For ten years she worked as an Assessore al Turismo. In 1993 Donatella founded the Movimento Turismo del Vino (Wine Tourism Movement).
