De Meo Vini is a wine producer in Salza Irpinia in the Campania region of southern Italy. It produces 500,000 bottles in total (2015) including Irpinia DOC, Fiano di Avellino DOCG, Taurasi DOCG and other wines.

Organics: The estate was organic for a time but stopped organics at some stage.

Fiano di Avellino DOCG, F: 2014 100% estate vines. Fermemted and aged in stainless steel. Bottled one month ago. Clean, creamy (tasting in Taurasi, 11th June 2015).
Fiano di Avellino DOCG, Selezione Alessandra: Roberto named this after his daughter. | 2010 12.5%. 24 hours skin contact. 18 months on lees. Nice concentration but also some reduction (tasting in Taurasi, 11th June 2015)
Fiano di Avellino DOCG, Selezione Erminia di Meo: 2000 100% Fiano from one plot in Salza Irpina (550 metres). 1984 planted. Stays in steel for a decade with rare rackings. 3,000 bottles. Very interesting nose, some light sherry but very savoury, dry honey/acacia finish. Also some funk in this but very appetising (tasting in Taurasi, 11th June 2015).
Fiano di Avellino DOCG, Colle dei Cerri: Not tasted.

Taurasi Riserva DOCG: 2006 40,000 bottles. Bit of funk. Also on palate, tastes quite youthful and fresh, may be a mix of new and old wine. Interesting but a mix pick’n’mix (tasting in Taurasi, 11th June 2015).
Taurasi Riserva DOCG, Selezione Hamilton: Hamilton was an English ambassador and vulcanologist who came here and painted late 18th century. 3,000 bottles. From vines in Montemarano, the highest vineyard in Taurasi, 800 metres. 30-40q/ha. | 2007 MLF in acacio. Botte and barrique. Interesting nose: ripe but clear and savoury, lovely concentration, very fine tannin, evolved but still fresh, very long (at a tasting in Taurasi, 11th June 2015).
