Vineyards: In 2015 Jaugueyron consisted of 15 plots (both owned and rented) on varied soil types comprising 7.30ha, of which 3.35ha of AOC Haut-Médoc in Macau (planted 1999) and 3.92ha of Margaux in Arsac (planted 1988). | Haut-Médoc AOC vineyards Vines in Macau. 3+ hectares. Well drained gravel. Planted by Michel having bought the plot in 1998. 60-65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc [this has since been replanted], 2% Petit Verdot (mass selection). Margaux AOC Vineyards Vines in Arsac, planted in 1988 in the Le Tertre lieu-dit. 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc.
Certification: 2012 First vintage with full organic certification. | 2015 First vintage with full Demeter Biodynamic certification. | 2017 Still Demeter-certified Biodynamic.
Winery: Located in woodland, built with natural materials.
Winemaking: No fining, no yeast, just some SO2 (Millésime Bio 2016).
Haut-Médoc AOC, Clos du Jaugueyron: 2012 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, 7% Petit Verdot. Lovely fluid tannins (Millésime Bio 2015). Lovely oak and fruit tannin, very good (Millésime Bio 2016). | 2013 70% CS, 25% Merlot, 5% PV. Lovely tannin, more fluid than 2012 (Millésime Bio 2016).
Margaux AOC, Clos du Jaugueyron: 2010 55% Merlot, 45% Cabernet Sauvignon. 85% new wood. 2012 30% Merlot, 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc. 70% new wood. Classic, tight, ripe (Millésime Bio 2015). | 2013 20% Merlot, 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cab Franc. 50% new wood. 600 bottles only I think.
Margaux AOC, Clos du Jaugueyron, Nout: A plot and barrel selection. 2010 55% Merlot, 45% Cabernet sauvignon. 85% new wood. | 2012 70% new wood. Nice richness, VG (Millésime Bio 2015). | 2013 50% new wood. Lovely fruit and use of oak (Millésime Bio 2016).
