Château Rouet is an estate winery in Saint-Germain La Rivière in the Fronsadais on the right bank of the Bordeaux region. It makes red wine under the Fronsac AOC.
Owner: Patrick Danglade (who also acted as a negotiant) and Tito Danglade. In the same family since its creation in the 17th-century (the building is 18th-century). There is also a 6ha park, 8ha of woodland and pre-Gallo-Roman grottoes quarried from the limestone are used for mushroom production. One grotto called L’Eritage de St Aubin is classified as an historic monument.
Vineyards: 11ha. On the limestone plateau (David Peppercorn MW (1991, p.568). South-facing from slopes located east of Saint-Germain La Rivière. Clayey, compact clay-limestone with a thin topsoil.
