Château Le Pré de la Lande is a Biodynamic estate winery in the Sainte-Foy region of Bordeaux.

Owner: Michel Baucé (06.74.24.93.79) and his wife Angélita. Baucé spent 11 years as PDG of the local negoçiant Aurélien Grenouilleau before it was sold to Castel. He bought this estate in 2003.

Vineyards: 14 hectares (27 acres) of vineyards with 22 hectares (54 acres) land in total. Red grapes: 11ha. 60% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Franc. White grapes | 3 hectares (acres). 50% Semillon, 40% Sauvignon Blanc, 10% Muscadelle. All the vines are on slopes. 5,500 vines pre hactare (2,226 per acre). Every other row is grassed. 40 year-old average vine age. Single guyot pruning for reds.

Certification: 2003 Began IPM. 2010 First vintage with full organic certification. | 2017 Full Demeter Biodynamic certification.

Winemaking: Machine picked. Cement tanks. Reds are destemmed, then cold macerated.

White wines

Sainte-Foy-Bordeaux Blanc, Château Le Pré de la Lande  | 2008 Easy modern style at Millésime Bio 2009. | 2015 60% Semillon, 40% Sauvignon Blanc. Creamy, savoury, well done at Millésime Bio 2017.

Red wines

Bordeaux Rouge AOC, Château Le Pré de la Lande 2008 Gloopy modern style using cold pre-fermentation maceration and warm extended at the end (Millésime Bio 2009).

Sainte-Foy-Bordeaux Rouge, Terracotta2015 60% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Franc. 36ppm total sulfites. Good example of a wine made in clay amphora. Simple savoury rich, good tannin, no funk, balanced, youthful at Millésime Bio 2017.
