Château Latour is an estate winery in the Pauillac AOC region on the left bank of the Bordeaux region. In 2018 it became the first Bordeaux first growth (1er Grand Cru Classés) to be certified organic for its red wine. None of Bordeaux’s other Premier Grand Crus making red or mainly red wine (Château Margaux, Château Lafite-Rothschild, Château Mouton-Rothschild, Château Haut-Brion, Pétrus, Château Cheval Blanc and Château Ausone) had fully certified status at this time. However two white wine 1855 First Growths, Château Climens in the Barsac AOC and Château Guiraud in the Sauternes AOC did already have full organic certification.
Owner: Groupe Artémis (the holding company of François Pinault). Former owners: Allied Lyons.
1855 Classification: 1st growth.
Vineyards: In the south of Pauillac (Château Lafite and Château Latour are in northern Pauillac).
Organic certification: 2018 Certified organic (August 2018+).
