Château Grand Pey Lescours is an organic estate winery in Saint-Sulpice-de-Faleyrens in the Saint-Emilion AOC on the right bank of the Bordeaux region.
Owner: Françoise Escure. The Escure family bought Château Grand Pey Lescours in 1924 from Baronne Arthur de Brezets. See also Château Bellisle-Mondotte.
Staff: Jean-Marie Bouldy oversees the viticultural side.
Vineyards: 25-hectares (62 acres) on the slopes just outside the town of St-Emilion. 70% Merlot, 25% Cabernet franc, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon.
Soils: Gravelly and sandy with a sub-soil showing traces of iron hardpan.
Organic certification: 2014 First vintage with full organic certification.
Red wines
Saint-Emilion Grand Cru AOC, Château Grand Pey Lescours, Cuvée Prestige: 2014 99% Merlot, 1% Cabernet Franc. Nice and crisp, nice fruit, bit lean perhaps at Millésime Bio Jan 2016.
