Château Giscours is an estate in the commune of Labarde on the Bordeaux region’s left bank. Described as ‘a huge, rambling [Victorian] château and chais in a fine park with a lake dug partly to influence the micro-climate,’ (Hugh Johnson & Hubrecht Duijker: 1987, p.72). Red wines are made under the Margaux AOC. From 1970 the estate was managed by Pierre Tari.
Margaux AOC, Château Giscours: ‘More outstanding in the 1970s than 1980s…tannic, robustly fruity…not the suavely delicate style of Margaux,’ (Hugh Johnson: Wine Companion 1991, p.52).
