Château Cardeneau is an estate winery in Saillans in the Fronsadais on the right bank of the Bordeaux region. It makes red wine under the Fronsac AOC. The vineyard affords a view across Libourne, Pomerol and Saint-Emilion.
Owner: Jean-Noël Hervé (see also Château Moulin Haut Laroque). It belonged to his mother’s side of the family. He took over in 1982. The 1986 edition of Féret described the estate as ‘being reconstructed (David Peppercorn MW (1991, p.562).
Vineyards: 5ha. Plateau. 65 metres. Soil comprises alternate layers of clay and limestone. Good terroir.
