Château Beynat is an organic estate in Saint-Magne-de-Castillon on the right bank of the Bordeaux region. It was bought in 1917 by Léonard Nebout, an ironmonger (‘quincailler’) in nearby Castillon-la-Bataille. There were 8 hectares of south-facing vines, overlooking the Dordogne, in Saint-Magne-de-Castillon. After Léonard died in 1921 his wife took over and she renamed the estate Château de Beynat. She built the cellar in 1924. She was succeeded by her son-in-law, Henri Borliachon. Three generations of his successors followed, with Xavier Borliachon at the helm in 2002. Nathalie Boyer and Alain Tourenne are now in charge. Wines are made under the Castillon–Côtes de Bordeaux AOC and Saint-Émilion AOC.

Vineyards: 14ha (acres) of vines: Merlot (55%), Cabernet Franc (30%), Cabernet Sauvignon (10%) and Malbec (5%). Of these, 13ha (acres) are in Côtes de Castillon (all in St-Magne-de-Castillon) and 1ha (2.47 acres) in St-Émilion in the commune of Saint-Étienne-de-Lisse, which touches St-Magne.
