Château Angélus is an estate in the Saint-Emilion region on Bordeaux’s right bank. It was promoted to Premier Grand Cru Classé in 1996. At that time the estate was being run by Hubert de Bouard de Laforest (who began working here in1979, and his cousin Jean-Bernard Grenié who followed in 1987. Previously the estate was being run by Hubert’s father and uncle. Grape yields were high.
