Cennatoio is an organic estate winery in Panzano in Chianti in the Chianti Classico DOCG region of Tuscany (on the same street as Fontodi).

Owners: Emiliano Alessi. Once co-owned with Leandro and Gabriella Alessi.

Staff: Winemaker: Alfonso Garberoglio.

Vineyards: 43ha of land of which 10ha of vines. Marl and sandstone. 450-620 metres. 5,000-6,000 vines per ha.

Red wines

Chianti Classico DOCG, Oro: 2011 95% Sangiovese, 5% Colorino. £15-29.99. Ripe and roasted, decent weight if a bit blunt, commended (DWWA 2013).

Chianti Classico DOCG Riserva: 1999 95% Sangiovese.

Chianti Classico DOCG Riserva, O’Leandro: 1999 Bottled.

Rosso, Arcibaldo: 1999 Merlot-based.

Rosso, Etrusco: 1999 100% Sangiovese.

Rosso, Fiorentino: 1997 Bottled.
