The Casentino valley, one of the four valleys in the Province of Arezzo in eastern Tuscany, is the source of the river Arno. The Arno flows from Mount Falterona, the northern boundary between the Casentino valley and the Romagna region to the east and beyond the Apennine ridge. The Mugello Valley in the Province of Florence (‘Firenze’) lies to the north.
