Caroline Gilbey MW has been a member of the Institute of Masters of Wine since 1992. She is a wine writer and consultant. In the UK she consulted for the Augustus Barnett off-licence chain. She is a specialist in the wines of Central and Eastern Europe and has contributed to Hugh Johnson’s Pocket Wine Book, The Oxford Companion to Wine, and the World Atlas of Wine. She was the first major UK buyer to import Hungarian wines.
Qualifications: Doctorate in Plant Biology.
