Azienda Agricola Canneto is a conventional estate winery in the Montepulciano region, Siena Province, Tuscany. It was founded in 1980. Its main wines are Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG and Rosso di Montepulciano DOC.
Owner: Originally the estate was owned by various wealthy families from Montepulciano, and then to a Roman who sent the grapes to the Montepulciano cooperative (see Vecchia Cantina di Montepulciano). In 1987 Canneto was acquired by Ottorino de Angelis (see also Talosa) with a group of Swiss partners (Rosemary George MW 2004, p184).

Vineyards: Canneto is a 48 hectare (118 acres) estate in the Canneto sub-zone in the northern sector of Montepulciano, near the Tempio di San Biagio (San Biagio Temple) at 350-400 metres (1,150-1,312 feet), and mainly south-west facing.There are 30 hectares (74 acres) of vines.
Wine style: Very technical wines which are surely populist was my conclusion after the Anteprima 2014.
White wines
Toscana Bianco DOC, Calamus: 2013 Malvasia, Riesling, Traminer, Petit Manseng. Steel. No MLF. 2,500 bottles. Pear drops and forthright acidity (Anteprima 2014).
Red wines
Rosso di Montepulciano DOC: 2012 Bright cherryade perfumes, light body (Anteprima 2014).
Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG: Aged in 30-50hl Slavonian botti and 500-litre Allier tonneaux. | 2002 Light fruit and quite a bit of new French oak with toast (can feel the lignins), light international style at the consorzio on Tuesday 8th March 2005. | 2008 90% Prugnolo Gentile (Sangiovese), 5% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. | 2011 Plump, oaky, fluffy red fruit (Anteprima 2014).
Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG Riserva, Canneto: 2013 Savoury tannin, plum (Merlot?) fruit (Anteprima 2018).

Sweet wines
A late harvest white was made from Malvasia, Trebbiano and a little Grechetto.
