California Shenandoah Valley AVA is an American Viticultural Area, one of two AVA’s in Amador County, the other being Fiddletown AVA, within the wider Sierra Foothills AVA in California. Wine has been made here since the Gold Rush. The region has a sunny climate that produces wines of considerable depth. Pre-Prohibition Zinfandel vineyards remain in this historic part of Sierra Foothills Wine Country.
