Breitenberg is a lieu-dit in Soultzmatt, a commune in the Haut-Rhin in the Alsace AOC region of north-eastern France. In Alsatian Breitenberg translates from French as ‘wide or large hill’, the most westerly site in Soultzmatt, at at the bottom of the Noble Valley. It is a late ripening site in the Noble Valley, being barely 7km from Petit Ballon with a beautiful southern exposure. 

Terroir: Breitenberg is distinct being comprised of ‘grès avolcia‘ or avolcia sandstone, sandstone with calcareous sediment. It favours noble rot.
