Borgo Macereto is an organic estate in Dicomano near Florence in the Chianti Rufina DOCG of Tuscany. It was founded in 2014 when the Foscarini family took possession of it and decided to plant mainly vineyards. It produces Chianti Rùfina DOCG red wines.

Vineyards: 20ha of land on the hills that dominate the area between the Mugello Valley and the Valdisieve, in Dicomano (FI). There are 6 ha of vineyards, 3ha of olive groves and the remainder is divided between meadows and coppice. The original 3 hectares of vineyards of Sangiovese and Gamay noir was kept by Foscarini family. They then planted in 2016 new Pinot Noir vines, as well as a variety of aromatic white grapes including Riesling, Incrocio Manzoni, Moscato, Sauvignon Blanc and Viognier, to give a note of originality, freshness and elegance, in addition to the inevitable Sangiovese, basic for the production of Chianti Rùfina DOCG wines. Spurred cordon and Guyot.

Terroir: Soils rich in limestone and marl.

Chianti Rùfina DOCG La Fuga: 2018 Debut. 100% Sangiovese. Spurred cordon. SSW. 350m.a.s.l. 4,800 vines per ha. Planted 2006 and 2015. 110 Richter and 1103 Paulsen. Limestone and marl. 13.5% alc. 100% stainless steel. | 2019 13.5% alc.An enjoyable if somewhat simple Rufina with some enjoyable juicy fruit within its light frame (Feb 2022).

Chianti Rùfina DOCG Riserva, Musica: Made from their best Sangiovese. Limestone and marl. SSW. 350m.a.s.l. 4,800 vines per ha. Planted 2006. 1103 Paulsen. 2018 Debut. Hand picked. 12m in French tonneaux and barrels. 14% alc. | 2018 14% alc. Juicy, soft, well balanced, easy to like (May 2022).

Other crops: A modest quantity of Extra Virgin olive oil is produced from around 400 trees, including Morellino, Leccino and Frantoio, especially reserved for direct sales and agritourism complex.
