Val di Cornia Bianco DOC, Tabarò:
Red wines
Toscana Rosso, Riflesso Antico: 2002 Montepulciano. 3,000 bottles. Lovely exotic nose of wild fruit; concentrated, backed up by plenty of oak too of course; sweet and a bit lumpen but you can see why they have planted it here; bit simple maybe but a definite crowd-pleaser at the Bolgheri wine route office on Tues 22 Feb 2005.
Val di Cornia Rosso DOC, Tabarò 95R: 2003 Sangiovese.
Val di Cornia Rosso DOC, Subertum: 2000 Sangiovese, Merlot. | 2002 40% Merlot, 40% Syrah, 20% Sangiovese. Clean, firmish tannin and soft quite elegant and restrained fruit, decent freshness of tannin; crisp style which I think is distinctive and which I like at the Bolgheri wine route office 22 Feb 2005.
